Success: 8th Annual Recovery Ride
This year record numbers showed up with about 100 cyclist and another 40-50 volunteers. The community came together to make the ride a success.
The HAHV Foundation, The YMCA of Ulster County, YMCA Bike-It, Bike Friendly Kingston, O+, The Bridge Back, First Step Rehab and other recovery interested individuals helped out.
The Mural to Mural Rec)+very Ride went through uptown Kingston and stopped at the Murals being done in Kingston. Many of the artist were on site during the ride. At the YMCA the Mural was being worked on and there was the 1st Annual Recovery Artist Show.
It was in the lobby of the YMCA 32 paintings by local artists who are supportive of Recovery including some from the Bridge Back of HAHV Art Group were displayed.
Approximately 250 people viewed the paintings over the weekend. At one time on Sunday October 12, the lobby was shoulder to shoulder. Attendees voted for their choice for top awards. 93 votes were cast and 7 winners were chosen. Allen Nace the coordinator remarked that they were all winners and indeed the votes showed that every painting received at least one vote for top award.
It was a great day for the Recovery Community and their supporters as well as the cycling community. The Bruderhof, cooked a BBQ for cyclist at the finish. A great day for the community at large.

5th Annual Tour a Great Success
Our 2010 Tour saw more riders participating than any of our previous tours. Early indications are that many of the Tours previous 12 & 25 mile riders stepped up this tour and rode our 50 mile run.
Most riders of this years tour reported an extremely positive experience in all 3 of this years routes. Another great indicator of this years success was many more families with children participated this year.
Both Kingston NY YMCA "Amy's Fireflies" and "The Famous Bike Brothers" teams won this years awards for the "most riders"
Jason Farina received the Kathy Janascek Scholarship and Caroline Bell received the Dr. Douglas Astion Scholarship.
